Located in Downtown Detroit completed in ‘2011 was built for the state and controls the Traffic Signals throughout the city and region. This facility included custom curtain-walls, entrances and interior sliding heavy glass appointments. Glass is special Low-e to maintain a high level of energy efficiency.
“Tubelite” Curtain-wall, storefronts, Entrances, “PPG” Atlantica Solarcool and Low-e Glass, “Armortex” Bullet proof window systems, and specialty hardware products throughout. We were chosen from a short list to perform the work on this project. Work was performed in fall and winter near the Detroit river posing wind and weather challenges. Close coordination with our General Contractor was required to provide specific security measures for the new facility and to meet a short timeline requirement. The project was not only completed on time, but was noted by the city for its exceptional looks and functionality when done. This project earned us substantial future work with our customer and remains a beautiful landmark in Wyandotte.
“EFCO” Front set storefronts, “Guardian” High Performance Low-e. Project was a fully occupied and operable State office building which posed specific challenges and required balance between productivity, tight timelines and the consideration of the occupants working within close quarters. This was a multiple story high rise and was renovated due to energy efficiency mandates and because of multiple leaks (Existing storefronts and glass were removed, brick work renovated and new high performance glass and frames were replaced). Special care was needed and close coordination with masons was required due to new flashings, insulation and weatherproofing required meeting new energy standards and insuring no leaks. End Result ……On time return to normal operations, perfect safety record, no leaks, Minimal punch list and high marks from the State of Michigan, the Architect and the site management of the contractor. A tough job well done….!!!!
